Sources used for Places Old and New in Marquette Co. Michigan

• Current Map = Michigan County Atlas by Universal Map 
• 1904 Map = This map was found at a sale and the owner said it was taken from a larger atlas book but they couldn't remember what the title was. 
• Ghost Town = Michigan Ghost Towns of the Upper Peninsula by R. L. Dodge published in 1990 - This is a treasure trove of historical information on places that either no longer exist or the author saw as a ghost town from what it was in the "old days." 
• MI Place Names = Michigan Place Names by Walter Romig published 1973 - One of the best sources for the study of places in Michigan.  Extensive information gives details of the post offices, founding fathers, years of existence and gives county and townships.

I expect to carry on with the addition of place names over time by using old Gazetteers, directories and maps.
