WASHINGTON KNIGHT,
PIONEER HERE, PASSES
Saginaw News, Monday 24 April, 1933

Washington KNIGHT, a pioneer resident of Michigan, died Sunday at his home, 414 State Street. He was 80 years of age.

Mr. KNIGHT was born April 24, 1853 at Ogdensburg N.Y. and came to Michigan when 12 years of age settling in Wells township, Tuscola County. He married Miss Mary WILSON of Caro Feb 27, 1878 and they came to Saginaw in 1892. Mrs. Knight died Sept 13, 1927 and on March 8, 1928 he married Miss Sarah BOYER of Saginaw, who survives him, together with seven children, Mrs. Annie PERRY, Mrs Edward BENNETT and Miss Emma KNIGHT of Saginaw; Mrs Marshal RAYMOND, and Arthur KNIGHT of Caro, Alvin KNIGHT of Detroit and Harry KNIGHT of Hemlock; 18 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and three brothers, William KNIGHT of Saginaw, Charles KNIGHT of Caro and Silas KNIGHT of Lansing. He was a member of Ames M.E. Church.

Funeral services will take place at 2.P.M. Tuesday at the Gugel Funeral Home, 600 State Street, Rev Clifford E. DOTY will officiate and burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetary.
