DRAPER, R. V.

     Born August 18, 1836, in Alexander Township, Jefferson County, N. Y.  He lived with his parents and took care of them until their death.  In 1865 he moved to Forest City, Winabago county, Iowa, where he lived nine years.  He then returned to Alexander Township, where he lived two years, and in 1876 came to Millington Township, Tuscola County, Michigan, where he has since resided.  He was married June 10, 1858, to Miss Ameilia J. Hubbard.  Mrs. Draper was born July 11, 1836, in Alexander Township Jefferson County, N. Y., and died October 19 1877, in Metamora, Michigan, leaving five children, Amos B., born June 30, 1859; Julia, born September 22, 1861; Charles, born April 12, 1868; Mehaska, born December 9, 1872; Ernest born April 23, 1874.  Mr. Draper married again in August 1881, to Mrs. Mary E. Oldstead.  They have three children, Maud A., born October 24, 1883; David, born March 9, 1885, and Clarence, born August 5, 1888.  Mr. Draper enlisted in Company E, Thirty-fifth N. Y. S. V. Heavy Artillery, in 1862, and served until the close of the war.

 

HAYS, GEORGE H.

     Born June 29, 1843, in Unadilla Township, Livingstone County, Michigan.  He lived with his parents until of age.   He was married March 6, 1867, in Livingstone County, Michigan, to Miss Erbilla Miller.  Mrs. Hays was born February 21, 1850, in Iosco Township, Livingstone County.  Mr. Hays moved soon after his marriage to Unadilla Township, on the old homestead, where they remained for two years, moving then to Unadilla village, where he went into the meat business for two years.  He then took up farming again and farmed it for two years in Unadilla Township.  He then purchased a farm in Iosco Township, where he lived seven years.  He then traded farms with a Mr. George Coleman in 1884 for the farm he now lives on.  They have had 5 children, Millie J., born December 26, 1867, and died at the age of two years and seven months; Eugene W., born August 5, 1871, and was mysteriously killed April 12, 1889, near the Pere Marquette junction at Vassar; Minnie B., born September 9, 1873; Jessie T., born September 18, 1875, and Sylva J., born June 11, 1879.  Minnie B. is now Mrs. Ottis Rice, and has three children.     

 

LONG, DAVID D.

     Born September 14, 1855, in Thatford Township, Genesee County, Michigan.  He made his home with his parents until twenty years of age, when he was married to Miss Annett Smith, on July 29, 1876.  Mrs. Long was born November 12, 1857, in Millington Township, Tuscola County, Michigan.  Mr. Long came to Tuscola County March 1875, and in 1878 bought the farm where he now lives.  They have had 7 children, Jessie E., born March 22, 1877; Percis A., born December 19, 1879; Francis, born May 26, 1882; Ella, born February 4, 1884; Clarence E., born March 9, 1886; Emma R., born November 2, 1888, and David S, born November 30, 1890.

 

WOLVERTON, S. H.

     Born April 18, 1857, at Muttonhill, Tioga County, N. Y.  Came to Michigan with his parents when six months old and settled at Grand Blank, Genesee County, where his parents ended their days.  He was married March 30, 1889, at Lapeer, to Miss Clara Price.  Mrs. Wolverton was born January 28, 1861, in Hadley Township, Lapeer County, Michigan.  After their marriage they moved to Tuscola County, on a farm owned by Mr. Wolverton, where they have since lived.  They have no children.
