BEERS posted by Rita McNeely on Tuesday, August 25, 1998

BEERS I am looking for information on Josiah/Stephen/Nathan/Luther J. BEERS. The book History of Saginaw County shows that both Josiah BEERS and Stephen BEERS purchased land in the townships of Bridgeport, Taymouth and Frankenmuth in 1836. It shows that Nathan BEERS purchased land in Birch Run in 1854. I am looking for information on the ancestors and children of these men as well as where they moved from. I have a letter from Luther J. BEERS of Company B 23rd Michigan Reg. in the Civil War to my g-g-grandfather Charles BEERS of the 147th New York Reg. The saluation reads, "Dear Cousin" and the closing says, "Your cousin". Luther's company history and his service records state he was from Birch Run. I have run into a brick wall in my BEERS research and hope to make a connection between the Saginaw County BEERS and my BEERS ancestors who moved from Grandby, Oswego Co., NY to Bellevue, Eaton Co., MI. Any information would be appreciated. Rita McNeely
