BULL, MUNRO posted by Pat Munro Fuller on Thursday, January 9, 1997

I am looking for any information on MUNRO, Chester b. 1832 in Canada and MUNRO, Emeline (maiden name BULL) b. 1836 in Canada. They settled in Maple Grove Township around 1857. Is there an decendents of Chester and Emeline that are working on this family lineage? As of the 1880 Michigan Census, I count that they had at least nine children: Names of the children are William, Jenny, Chester, Bedent,Daniel, Alice, Catherine, Martin and Goldis. The History of Saginaw County, Vol 2, by Mills notes Chester as being one of the prominent people involved the early township meetings. I am a little rusty on geneaolgy research after not having worked on it in years. I would like to know where in Canada Chester and Emeline came from, I assume that the probably came here together as they both were born in Canada, but I can't know that for sure until I get additional information on them. My great-grandfather was Bedent Baird Munro b. 1865 in Maple Grove Township. He married Lucinia Elizabeth Loop, she died in 1903 and is buried in Clinton co. He remarried and I believe her name was Elizabeth. Any information would be appreciated.

ASKIN, BROUGHTON, BROWN, CHAMBERLAIN, EARSKIN, EARSTIN, ERSKINE, ERSKINS, SOFFE, WATSON posted by Cary on Tuesday, January 14, 1997

I am looking for Joseph ERSKINE and his family. He was married to sisters (first Jane BROUGHTON and then Elizabeth BROUGHTON). His children from his second marriage are all found in Saginaw and Midland Counties. They are: Hersey married to Maria WATSON (my g-grandfather), Martha married to Henry SOFFE, Mary married to Simmon CHAMBERLAIN and Josephine married to Alanson BROWN. Many of his family are found to be buried in Hemlock, Saginaw County, Michigan. Joseph was born in Andes Twp., Delaware Co., NY in 1821. Probably married in Steuben Co. New York as that is where most of the children were born. Would like to find place of death. Also would like to correspond with any Erskine searchers. Family was known to go by the names of ERSKINE, ERSKINS, EARSTIN, EARSKIN, and ASKIN. Thanks.
