BRIDGEPORT (P.O. established in 1836 as Cass Bend then changed to Cass Bridge in 1864) Link To 1860 Gazetteer Listing 
A small post village of Saginaw county, in the township of the same name, on the south side of the Cass river, eight miles from Saginaw City, and 83 miles north-west from Detroit. The village has two stores, two hotels, and a saw mill. Population 500. A daily mail is received. Postmaster--William L. Cook.

BRIDGEPORT CENTRE
A post village of Saginaw county, in the township of Bridgeport. It contains two stores, a hotel, church, steam saw mill, etc. Population 200.

St. Mary's Cemetery 
Established in 1889 and is located on 2 acres on Section 29, 1/4 mile north of E. Curtis Road on Dorwood Road. The cemetery is owned by Assumption of Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church and the records are held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Saginaw. Oak Grove (Oak Wood) Cemetery 
Established in 1843 while a part of Saginaw Township. A committee was selected at a July 1, 1843 township meeting to select a burying ground near the Cass River. This 4 acre cemetery is located on Section 16, one block north of State Street on Dixie Highway. The cemetery is owned by the township and the records are held at the Bridgeport Charter Township Office.  See 1877 Plat Map for location.
