Phineas D. BRALEY

Phineas D. BRALEY, who died Friday, December 9, 1887, located on the farm on the Titabawassee, where the Hon. T.C. Ripley now lives, at an early age, and he claimed to have brought the first plow to Saginaw county. He farmed it for many years, and afterwards was interested in some real estate speculations with the late George W. Bullock. His residence on Washington street was built some twenty years ago, and at that time was one of the most pretentious houses of the city. Mr. Braley’s lumbering operations were confined principally to jobbing, and he met his business reverses owing to open winters. His brother, Ephraim Braley, who was also a pioneer who settled on the Tittabawassee, died some four years ago.
