ROSES FOR THE LIVING

                                                            Dr.  J. H. Clark

In 1914 there came to Weidman Dr. J. H. Clark and family, the doctor having just grad-

uated from the Grand Rapids Veterinary College.  He proceeded to make friends and

business connections, until the family seemed like old settlers.

The doctor was born in Steuben county, Indiana.  He moved with his parents in 1886 to

a farm near Winn.  He attended Central Normal in 1895-6, taught school three years, helped

in the Adams store in Winn, and conducted a general merchandise store in Brinton, going

from there to the college in Grand Rapids.

He was married Sept. 23, 1897, to Bertha Reynolds, five sons and two daughters being

born to them.

After moving to Pontiac and spending several years practicing, the doctor and family

moved to Weidman, where they have a home, the improvements in landscaping which took

first prize in a recent local contest.

We welcome the doctor to our Rose for the Living column, and regard him and the family

as among our stable and dependable residents.
