Preface

These transcripts of the Chippewa Cemetery, located four miles north of Shepherd, Mich., were from notes taken by different people almost a year ago (1980). They were typed as accurately as possible, but errors could be included.

The sexton of the cemetery said the original records had been burned in a fire many years ago. Many of the stones are completely illegible, and more are very difficult to read.

The cemetery is fairly well cared for, and is currently in use.
