ROSES FOR THE LIVING

 

                                                    Fey T. Middlesworth

 

     The gentleman whose beaming countenance you observe above is no other than Fey T.

Middlesworth.  We are told that Fey came to Weidman 43 years ago and we guess that’s

right.

     In 1896 Geore H. Middlesworth, Fey’s father, moved his general store from Brinton and

built a large store and home in connection.  The store and home burned some years later

and the store was moved to the Damon Building.  Later this property was purchased, and

this is where you will find Fey any weekday.  The Middlesworth family, therefore, have

been identified with the merchandise business at Weidman since the founding of the village.

     To Mr. and Mrs. George H. Middlesworth much credit is due to building a fine comm-

unity life in this village, and we believe their influence is still felt in our churches, our school

and the community.  Fey was born in Byron 54 years ago.  He attended school in Weidman

and Albion College.  Since the passing of his father in 1920, he has managed the Middles-

worth Store.

     He is always first to take up any cause for the betterment of this community.  To Fey a

great deal of credit is due for the fine school building that is now being erected.  Our village

is fortunate in having Fey T. Middlesworth, a resident of Weidman.

     The baby in the picture is Bruce Middlesworth, Fey’s nephew.
