Meets the first Tuesday of the month.
No meetings January, February and March.
July is the Ice Cream Social and December is the Christmas Party.

The Mount Pleasant Area Historical Society was founded in 1987 when several interested people from the community set out to save the Main Street Train Depot.  From these efforts grew a thriving organization dedicated to preserving the unique heritage of Mount Pleasant and its surrounding area.
The Society's fundamental goal is to educate and to collect any material which may help to record or illustrate the history of the region including: the arts, sciences, education, agriculture, manufacturers, trade, transportation, and progress in the growth of the population.
The Mount Pleasant Area Historical Society has been involved in numerous community projects since its inception such as Christmas Housewalks, Old Fashioned Ice Cream Socials, annual "Jumble Sale", quilt raffle, parades, and fashion shows.  The organization has sponsored a historically accurate re-creation of a 1930's wedding, has worked with Central Michigan University on several of its 1992 Centennial projects and with the City of Mt. Pleasant on its 1989 Centennial.
