Forty men in Isabella County, including five volunteers and thirty-five draftees, have successfully passed their physical examination and this week were mailed notices of selection, signifying 1-A classification. The men notified are:

To date the draft board had not been officially notified of the may date of induction or of the number of selectees to be inducted. However, having been warned that thirty or more men will be called from this area, on or about, May 21, officials are making certain that enough men have been notified to fill the quota.

The new regulation this month specifies that an inductee must be given a ten-day notice. This sudden change in regulations caught many of the state boards shorthanded, clerks being unable to give selectees the proper length of notice.

With all notices from the local board warning forty selectees of the approximate date of induction, there is little doubt but that Isabella county will be able to satisfy the quota.
