Pleasant Ridge or Coe Cemetery

Foreword

The following tombstone headings were copied from the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, located at Coe, Coe township, Isabella county, Michigan, by the
genealogy committee of the Shepherd Area Historical Society in July and August of 1979.

Many graves are unmarked. Many stones are practically illegible. There Is a pile of broken I markers in the southwest corner of the burial ground,
almost covered by the foliage of vines and weeds. This cemetery was once part of a farm owned by Joseph and Rhoda Higgins. It is located 2 miles east and 3 1/2 miles south and about an eighth of a mile east again, from Shepherd, Michigan. It is on the south side of the road, surmounting a low hill.

The survey was made by Jane Cowles and Paul and Melva Wilbur. Please note that the cemetery inscriptions are not in alphabetical order.  They were read as they stand.  This should help give you an idea of who was buried next to whom which may indicate possible relationships.
