Isabella Sends 42 More Men to Fort Custer

December Contingent Left Tuesday to Enter Active Service

 

   Forty-two Isabella county men left Tuesday, December 1, via the Ann Arbor railroad, for Fort Custer, where they will enter active duty in the United States Army.  The men were sworn in, as enlisted reservists, on November 17, at Kalamazoo, after passing their physical examinations.

 

   Those from Isabella county, who left on Tuesday, were:

 

   Fred W. Swan, Weidman; James J. Griffin, Weidman; William H. Mogg, Rosebush; Ross J. Dart, Mt. Pleasant; James L. Whitney, Mt. Pleasant.

 

   George W. Whitney, Remus; Donie Jones, Mt. Pleasant; Jack J. Underwood, Blanchard; Shirley W. Bragg, Mt. Pleasant; Howard E. Guthrie, Mt. Pleasant.

 

   James D. Grandon, Mt. Pleasant; Eugene A. Henry, Shepherd; Louis R. Kennedy, Shepherd; Russell R. Woodruff, Shepherd; Gerald H. Jennings, Winn.

 

   Gerald R. Hamilton, Mt. Pleasant; John P. McArthur, Blanchard; Anthony Mester, Mt. Pleasant; Otto Greenwald, Coleman; Milo F. Blount, Mt. Pleasant.

 

   Jesus Cruz,  Mt. Pleasant; Roy P. Theisen, Mt. Pleasant; William H. Ardner, Mt. Pleasant; Earl G. Burger, Lake; Alvin H. Wilson, Mt. Pleasant.

   These reservists were granted an additional furlough and will be ordered to report for active duty at a later date:
