Ohio Educator Will Address High School Class

Dr. Frank D. Slutz of Dayton to Deliver Commencement Address

 

     Dr. Frank D. Slutz, of Dayton, Ohio, author, educator, guidance expert and industrialist, will deliver the Commencement address to the members of the 1942 graduating class of the Mt. Pleasant high school, Thursday evening, June 11 at *:15 p.m. in the high school auditorium.  The title of the address will be “Inspected and O.K.”.  Dr. Slutz is a graduate of Mt. Union college and Denver university.  A former school teacher and college professor, he has devoted most of his time in recent years to guidance work throughout the United States.

 

     Ninety-four seniors will receive diplomas from C. L. Maguire, president of the Board of Education.  This is only a slight decrease from last year when one hundred and six seniors were graduated.

 

     The annual Vespers service will be held Sunday afternoon, June 7, at 3:15 p.m.  The school band under the direction of Preston Mayhew will present a concert on the high school lawn at that time.  The baccalaureate sermon will be given at 4:00 p.m. in the auditorium by the Rev. Wanzer Hull Brunelle, minister of the First Presbyterian church in Mt. Pleasant.

Sacred Heart Graduation Wednesday Eve

Rev. Father Eugene Kuhn Will address 1942 Graduating Class

 

     The Rev. Father Eugene Kuhn will deliver the Commencement address to the Seniors of Sacred Heart academy, at the Graduation exercises to be held Wednesday evening, June 10, at 8:15 p.m. in the Sacred Heart church.  The Rev. Fr. Leo Farquharson, pastor of the church will present the diplomas to the graduates.

 

     The Baccalaureate sermon will be given Sunday June 7, at nine o’clock, by the Rev. Fr. Farquharson.
