Immigrant Ship Transcriber's Guild - This site has over 4000 ship manifests from around the world transcribed and online.  Many places in the Midwest are named as a destination.

THESHIPSLIST - Transcriptions of manifests, lists of ships of the companies with description of ships being worked on.  Many of the transcriptions on this site are listed in the ship descriptions.  

Immigrants To Canada - features ship lists online - many people went to Canada first and then came to the USA. 

The Olive Tree Genealogy Site has passenger lists online that are of interest.  To Canada lists  and from Ireland to N. America may be of interest.  Other passenger lists for different areas exist here also and many of the date ranges are 1600's and 1700's.
