Transcription Notes

Note first, that all misspellings by the enumerator have been left as is.  If the surname is spelled wrong that is because he did, and I know some of them are spelled incorrectly.

Many places on the census has a ink smudge or letters that just run together and cannot be read.  In the place of these I have put a ?.

Breckenridge is listed as a post office address for some of the veterans of Bethany Township.  It is possible that they lived close to the township border, which would have caused this. It is not an error.

I am transcribing townships in the order they appear on the film which is #M123-19. Note:  I have found more pages in the middle of the next township for Bethany so there will be added records. 

If anyone has a database program and would like to transcribe a county in Michigan please let me know.  As we hope to build a database that is searchable and put it online at this site.  I have two films right now and am planning on purchasing the rest to add.  Would appreciate the help in getting this online, sooner.
