Note: These records only contain people who died during the Civil War and were buried in Michigan at that time. Many soldiers who died during the war were buried in National Cemeteries through out the country. The only places contained on this film source is Detroit (Wayne Co.) and Jackson (Jackson Co.). There are errors in the spellings of many of the names and some errors in the regiment area data in the government records. I have worked through each soldier one by one to obtain the correct spelling and other information that may be available from the regiment rosters, pensions if available, and other indexes. Cemetery names were not included in the records. Click on the surname link for the extra records and notes I have found so far.
